Ship Management

Vertex Tank Farm manages the majority of its fleet in-house, comprising crude oil carriers ranging from Suezmax to Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC), V-Plus vessels, and Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) units. This structure allows us to maintain direct control over operational standards, safety, and performance.

In addition to our in-house capabilities, we collaborate with established ship management organizations to support selected vessels within our fleet—ensuring flexibility and access to specialized expertise where required.

Our fleet operates globally, serving major ports and charterers with the most stringent operational and compliance requirements. Continuous communication between vessels and shore-based teams is maintained through regular onboard visits, structured briefing and debriefing sessions, advanced communication systems, and ongoing training programs both onboard and ashore.

Performance is closely monitored and evaluated by our superintendents, internal and external auditors, customers, and national as well as international regulatory authorities. This multi-layered oversight ensures transparency, accountability, and consistent operational excellence.

Vertex Tank Farm maintains strong, long-standing relationships with major oil companies, having successfully passed numerous industry vetting assessments. All operations are conducted with the highest regard for health, safety, security, environmental, and quality standards, which remain central to our business.

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our fleet’s safety, security, and operational performance, while ensuring responsible and environmentally sound maritime transportation at all times.

Technical Management

Vertex Tank Farm Ship Management provides comprehensive technical management services across its fleet. Our structure is built around a highly skilled and diversified team, including technical superintendents, HSQE marine specialists, electrical superintendents, and procurement professionals. Each group of vessels is overseen by a senior superintendent, ensuring dedicated supervision and accountability.

Our teams are responsible for the efficient maintenance, repair, survey coordination, and supply of spare parts and provisions for every vessel. Performance and condition are continuously monitored through detailed routine reporting, complemented by regular onboard visits and inspections.

All vessels undergo scheduled dry-docking at planned intervals. These operations are carefully prepared, with work scopes developed collaboratively between shore management and vessel crews, incorporating feedback, performance data, and opportunities for technical improvements and upgrades.

To support operational excellence, we utilize an advanced Planned Maintenance System (PMS), enabling real-time monitoring and control of inspection and maintenance activities from shore. This ensures reliability, compliance, and optimal vessel performance at all times.

Projects Department

Vertex Tank Farm has in-house expertise which can manage new building and major conversions projects. Their services include pre-contract and post-contract consultancy as well as technical support. The process ensures that the vessels are constructed in accordance with the Company’s own requirements which in many cases exceed the requirements of the international regulatory framework.

Marine Management

Vertex Tank Farm Ship Management has employed a team of highly qualified and competent ex-captains to provide quality services to the fleet. In accordance with the plethora of regulations governing marine transportation industry, the HSQE marine manager and superintendents ensure that the fleet meets the predetermined criteria.

Using tools for continual improvement like internal audits, share of information regarding investigation and analysis of accidents and incidents, hazardous occurrences/near misses, vessel safety committee meetings, risk assessment and management of change, they ensure that our clients receive high quality services with the less possible negative impact on personnel safety, health and the protection of the environment.

Crew Vertex Tank Farm

Vertex Tank Farm Ship Management employs and offers career opportunities to officers and crew from diverse nationalities across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. We are committed to building a skilled, diverse, and highly competent workforce that supports our global operations.

Our crewing departments utilize advanced digital systems to efficiently manage recruitment and provide continuous career development opportunities for seafarers. This approach enables us to attract, develop, and retain talent while maintaining high operational standards across the fleet.

To ensure that all vessels are staffed with qualified and competent personnel, we implement a comprehensive training matrix that exceeds minimum statutory requirements. This includes a combination of external courses, in-house programs, and computer-based training. Training activities are regularly recorded, monitored, and evaluated, with continuous improvements driven through quarterly management review processes.

In addition, seafarers on leave are offered opportunities for shore-based training, including participation in office activities, seminars, and industry conferences. They remain actively connected to the company through regular communication, updates, and internal publications—ensuring alignment, engagement, and continuous professional development.
